Wikidot Design

Websites are composed primarily from three elements: content, design, and development. Web content refers to the actual information that the website conveys; development consists of the widgits and forms that the user interacts with. The appearance and layout, hence, is left to the web designers.

Wikidot, this site's service provider, allows for a tremendous control over a website's CSS, the program language used to adjust the appearance of a website. Therefore, since 2009, I have been designing what are called Themes for Wikidot-powered websites. The below themes represent my work in the design department which are available for public use.

Corner Game

Corner Game features a graphic top-left corner meant to add edge to the website. While the corner causes the top navigation bar to be incompatible, the content and side navigation are exemplified. I attribute much of the development of my CSS proficiency to this theme, for it was with the Corner Game that I experimented with complex images, positioning, and gradients.

Developer Series

The Developer Series is a set of themes made for clean simplicity, working as a general all-around web design. After acquiring all my knowledge about cross-compatibility, how CSS works, and how to incorporate images, I combined everything into one to make a nice series meant to work for educational sites, corporations, and even personal blogs.

The Art in Articles

The Art in Articles is a Wikidot CSS theme designed for informational wikis that contain long articles. Content is accentuated by the large, central body, and the side and top bars augment the readers' navigational experience while creating a scholarly feel.

WebBrand Series

The WebBrand Series is the second major set of Wikidot themes that I had made but the first set to utilize the powers of CSS3 which allows for the easy addition of rounded corners, basic animations, shadow effects, and more. Amalgamating my prior experience with this new tool has manifested itself into an elegant, yet soft, theme meant for blogs, corporations, and educational sites.
